"With the possible exception of the 2002 release, this is the best riesling under this label to date. While it would be marvelous with food this summer, it is round, dry, upfront and long and the fruit quality illustrates the Great Southerns international potential with this variety. This will improve and drink at its best from 2015 to 2030+ Lovely and lively now, this will relax to be amongst Australias finest drinking whites by 2013. "

"Pale straw-green; it has a shy, floral bouquet with hints of spice and apple, then a beautifully structured, supremely delicate, palate; unfolds on the finish and aftertaste with mouthwatering, citrussy acidity."

"Intense, vibrant riesling with nettle, yeast and lemon aromas, quite concentrated fruit with a slight impression of sweetness followed by a little grip on the dry finish. Juicy, tangy, intense; an excellent and high-impact wine."

2011 Isolation Ridge Riesling
Dr Craig Drummond - On the Grapevine

"It showed the typical regional lemon citrus characters, with a spicy nose and river pebble minerality on the palate. The vibrant fresh fruit shows nice purity, with a linear focus and a racy clean acid finish. Having just been released, I feel a couple of months in bottle are needed to soften the edges on this wine, which will gain complexity and drink well up to 10 years."

2010 Isolation Ridge Riesling
Jane Faulkner - The Age Special Edition Summer Age Food and WIne

"THERE IS something so alluring about Frankland Estates rieslings, it makes several single vineyard wines, with the Isolation Ridge always very pure and precise. There is nothing harsh about the 2010, it is superbly balanced with chalky soft acidity and spicy, delicate floral notes, particularly lime blossom with some citrus juiciness on the palate. Very pretty and approachable now although it will continue to evolve over the next five years."

"Palate is reticent at first, building slowly with determination. The vineyard generosity kicks in, showing great concentration of zesty citrus and crunchy green apples, rippling with minerality that dissolves in a long, crystalline finish."

"A touch of reduction on opening, giving way to crystalline minerality, fresh cut lemon and talc; dry and uncompromising laser-like acidity provides great energy, drive and length; purity is the key, with the hallmarks evident of another classic Isolation Ridge."

Jeremy Oliver - The Australian WIne Annual

"Long, elegant and austere, with drive, minerality and a sculpted, steely austerity. A penetrative mineral fragrance of lime juice, lavender and white flowers reveals earthy undertones. Backed by a fine, powdery undercarriage, its crystalline flavours of lemon and lime drive long down the palate, finishing with length, brightness, a tangy acidity and a carefully metered hint of sweetness."

"Western Australias finest Riesling rises to its reputation again this vintage. Calm and cool, with an icy shard of acidity driving through its core, splintering lemon and lime fruit in all directions. Structured and mineral, with suggestions of nutmeg on the edges, this is a wine of great persistence and longevity."

"Light yellow. Initially reticent nose slowly opens to offer spicy pear, quince and Meyer lemon scents. Showing more density and power than the previous two wines, with a strong mineral undertone and hints of dried herbs and anise. More about orchard fruits than citrus. Finishes with serious grip and lingering mineral notes. Give this a couple more years of bottle age. "

"Very elegant, with a delicate floral bouquet whose vibrant aromas of white peach, apple and lime juice are lifted by spicy, musky notes. Its long, pure and intense core of apple, pear, lime and guava gently caresses the palate, revealing a very fine underlying chalkiness. It finishes with a crystalline brightness and persistence, and a hint of sweetness tightly balanced by its brittle acidity."

2009 Isolation Ridge Riesling
Sarah Ahmed THE WINE DETECTIVE

"The Frankland River region is drier, with more pronounced diurnal temperature variation than Great Southern’s other sub-regions and, for me, its wines tend to show a little more generosity and good concentration of flavour. This is a very expressive, complete wine with bright, round applely fruit with a herbal edge balanced by thirst-quenching, rolling acidity which seems to penetrate every pore of your tongue, impressing and reinforcing a long, lingering finish, with a pronounced mineral undertow."

"Judi Cullam is a tireless champion of riesling and terroir, thus it’s fitting that this exemplary wine should come from estate vines nearly 20 years old. Strong aromas of lemon and lime, plus touches of spice, all followed by a powerful and intense palate, with dominate citrus flavours and great length."

".. medium straw-colored with aromas of petrol, mineral, lemon-lime, and an overall earthy character. It possesses vibrant acidity, intense flavors, and 6-8 years of aging potential. This brilliantly rendered Riesling is likely to drink well through 2027. Frankland Estate is considered by many to be the leading estate from the Frankland River GI."

"Are we dreaming or is this for real? - 2007 is the best young Isolation Ridge we have ever seen. We are totally transfixed and we cant string a sentence together. Fantasy - like quality. Tender texture. Pink palate. Elegantly ethereal. Please do not drink this in isolation, you have no idea where it might take you!."

Phillip White - The Advertiser

"Isolation Ridge's best rizza since 1988? Maybe. Loam, ironstone, gravel and clay - and oak, lees, malo? - gave this organic brew its smoky, flinty, moody tones: it's as much Pfalz and Alsace as Clare or Eden. Big clean lime hits first, then slightly custardy, chardonnay-like fatty acids. It's a perfectly balanced, heroic wine for juicy pink lamb cutlets and mustard."

2004 Isolation Ridge Riesling
Jeremy Oliver - Australian Wine Annual

"Fresh aromas of white peach and apricot blossom permeate a profoundly mineral background of spicy, floral and slightly reductive and cheesy undertones. Fine, elegant and crystalline, its schisty palate presents a vibrant core of lemon, lime and stone-fruit finishing long and tangy with plenty of reductive and stony complexity. Finishes dry and savoury, with lingering suggestions of citrus and stone-fruit."
