Franc for the Fringe 2016
Spicy savoury characters with textural tannin. Lifted fresh berries and cherries celebrate the finesse and elegance of this medium bodied cabernet franc. Can be served chilled. A wet spring provided good early vine growth followed by a dry and warmer than average January and February. The summer cooled considerably in early March slowing ripening with the cabernet franc harvest starting on the 17th March and concluding the 26th March. Fruit was harvested in clean and ideal condition.
Vines were spur pruned. The grapes were machine harvested. This wine was shallow fermented, aged on lees for 18 months in 500 litre French oak puncheons. Unfiltered and unfined.
